A little about what TAL is:
TAL is a site for RPing. The definition of Roleplay is "To assume the attitudes, actions, and discourse of another object." A Role-Play on TAL starts as a thread created by one person. Another member, or multiple members, will join the thread using his or her own character.

Here, you shall find a complete list of rules for this site. I ask you to read them even before you join this site. If I or one of the staff find you breaking the rules, you can be banned permanently. Thank You!

Rules of The Ancient Language RP



1) There will be not a whisp of god-modding. God-modding, or GMing is when you write another character’s actions and-or thoughts. This becomes extremly annoying to RP with. The exception is with NPCs (Non-Player-Characters). As long as you have the consent of the other player(s), you may control an NPC.

2) I would like to keep cursing, no matter how bad or "good" it is, to an extreme limit. I would prefer that there be none, but I know that for some people, it is almost required. Please, if you must use it, try to keep it to a limit.

3) Adult content will be IMMEDIATLY deleted, and the member will be banned. This is strongly enforced. This includes talk of drugs, alcohol, smoking, and sexual content, but they are not limited to those. If you must have a character relationship, there will be no more than hugs and kisses.

4) If you find something rude, inappropriate, or disrespectful; please do not post in that thread. PM me or one of the staff, and we will take care of it.

5) No perfect characters. These, more commonly called "Mary-Sues", are actually no fun to RP with. No character shall be perfect. Weaknesses are what make chracters interesting and fun to RP with

6) Do not, i repeat, do NOT, be afraid to ask questions! We won't bite, and I know from experience that it is hard to understand a site if you have a question that you think is stupid, and that you are afraid to ask. There is no such thing as a stupid question.

7) Limited races will be kept, as the name applies, limited! Do not beg and plead to have a limited character if there are no spots left.

8) No spamming. If I, or one of the staff, find you are spamming, we will delete your post counts to 0. Do not overuse smilies. Also, do not post just to raise your post count.

9) Please, try your hardest not to post things that are too religous or political. These posts almost always end in dispute. It's more peaceful without them.

10) Stay realistic with character creation. No super-unbeatable powers (or magic runes). Elves are stronger than humans, much stronger.

11) No canon characters. A canon character is one that is straight from the book. Do not apply as a canon character.

12) Do not abuse magic. Few knew how to use it, and those who did most likely did not know much of it.

13) Keep your roleplaying posts more than 200 characters. Describe everything that your character sees, feels, smells, tastes, and hears. It makes the post much more interesting and realistic. No short RP posts!


14) If you wish to have multiple characters, you must be an advanced member (Intermediate, Expert, or Mentor). Only 3 characters are allowed per person. I ask that you not make multiple accounts to have more than 3 characters, nor that you make a different account for each character.

15) Lastly, I ask that you keep your signatures small. It is extremly annoying to scroll the whole way through a long signature.
